چکیده
Fifty-six hybrids of Tossa jute (Corchorus olitorius L.) were raised at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur from the parental lines O-9897, O-795, JRO-524, Acc.-2381, Acc.-3423, Acc.-3438, Acc.-3533 Acc.-3860 studied. Maximum 24 genotypes in cluster II followed by 11 I, 9 IV, 6 VI, 4 V only 2 IV minimum (2.871) was between clusters V. Cluster VI produced highest mean values for all characters indicated higher potential. Intracluster distances lower than inter-cluster distances, suggested less diversity within a cluster. Mahalanobis D2-statistics genetic divergent classified those 56 into six clusters. showed intercluster distance (23.565) with I. Therefore, breeders may consider having desirable trait I further improvement jute.

Combining Ability for Yield and Yield Contributing Characters of White Jute (corchorus Capsularis L.)*
Abstract Crosses were made between three varieties and seven accessions of white jute (Corchorus capsularis L.) in all possible combinations to establish 10 × 10 full diallel set. Variances for general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) were significant or highly significant for all the characters indicating additive and non-additive gene actions played predominant rol...
متن کامل1835 - 2707 Regeneration and genetic transformation of Tossa Jute ( Corchorus olitorius L . )
The experiment was conducted to establish an efficient and reproducible protocol for the plant regeneration and genetic transformation, which can be used for the improvement of tossa Jute (Corchorus olitorius L.). It was demonstrated that the percent of seeds germination in agar based medium found to be very low (43.1%) , as compared to clinical cotton supported MS liquid medium, which was foun...
متن کاملAgrobacterium - mediated Genetic Transformation of Two Varieties of Jute ( Corchorus capsularis L . )
Transformation experiments were carried out using different explants of two varieties of white jute (Corchorus capsularis L.), namely, CVL-1 and CVE-3 with Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain (LBA4404/pBI121) containing the GUS and nptII genes. Maximum transformation ability was obtained from petiole-attached cotyledons and mature embryo explants. Kanamycin at a concentration of 200 mg/l was found...
متن کاملStability Analysis of a High Fibre Yield and Low Lignin Content “Thick Stem” Mutant in Tossa Jute (Corchorus olitorius L.)
A "thick stem" mutant of Corchorus olitorius L. was induced at M2 (0.50%, 4 h, EMS) and the true breeding mutant is assessed across generations (M5 to M7) considering morphometric traits as well as SEM analysis of pollen grains and raw jute fibres, stem anatomy, cytogenetical attributes, and lignin content in relation to control. Furthermore, single fibre diameter and tensile strength are also ...
متن کاملColletotrichum species associated with jute (Corchorus capsularis L.) anthracnose in southeastern China.
Anthracnose, caused by the Colletotrichum species of fungi, is one of the most serious diseases affecting jute in China. The disease causes chlorotic regions with black brown sunken necrotic pits on the surfaces of stems. In late stages of disease, plants undergo defoliation, dieback and blight, which make anthracnose a major threat to jute fiber production and quality in China. In this study, ...
